What Happened to Live Like Locals?

Cancer. Cancer happened to me, Jose Rosa, the owner of Live Like Locals. Unfortunately, we were rebounding from COVID, and I suddenly came down with a cough. The cough became persistent and ended up being accompanied by a fever and no, I did not have COVID, that cold and fever turned into cancer. It was totally unexpected.

If you want to read more about my diagnosis you can read my blog or if you want, you can also listen to episode two of Caregivers Guide to Cancer where I talk about the experience.

As you all know we were all affected by COVID in some way or another and although we had the best intentions of keeping things going my treatments got worse and I simply couldn’t keep up with both client work and the everyday work of Live Like Locals.

I do have to thank Renee, Shena and Kristianne for all the work they put into the project and how they continue to contribute to the social platforms that we created. Plus, many thanks to all the different people who helped by being creators, donors and supporters of the platform.

I’ve unfortunately been fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for almost a year now and will continue to do so for the better part of the next year and a half. I ended up having and immediate reoccurrence after only one month of completing treatment so I’m technically in my second battle with the cancer. The good news is that I will be getting back to rebuilding Live Like Locals differently in two areas Jacksonville Florida and once again in Savannah Georgia. I want to focus things a little differently. I feel that my experience with cancer has made me reevaluate how I want to live my life and build a business. I want to feel that we’re creating an impact in other people’s lives. So, I invite you to stay tuned in for updates and changes to our program by subscribing to our email updates.

In the meantime, I need to focus on healing. Thank you again for all your support. I look forward to working with you all.
