#5: Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire – Annual Award Gala
We are thrilled to announce the RCC Annual Awards Gala, happening soon, honoring 46 years of service to the Coastal Empire, on April 30. The RCC is honored to have Representative Scott Holcomb, politician, attorney and Army veteran, as the evening’s guest speaker. An accomplished leader and problem solver, Representative Holcomb was instrumental in passing HB 255, which creates a state-wide tracking system for rape kits. A champion for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, Rep. Holcomb serves as a member on the Judiciary, Defense and Veterans Affairs, Higher Education, Juvenile Justice, and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees.
Their evening will be emceed by local personality, and Live Like Locals News Reporter, Renee LaSalle.

#3: The Kentucky Derby Paw-Ty @ Ghost Coast Distillery
We are so excited for The Savannah Kennel Club’s Second Annual Kentucky Derby Paw-ty sponsored by Fetch Canine Rehab! The event will be on Saturday, May 1st from 4:00-8:00pm at Ghost Coast Distillery. This event is Free for all families in attendance and is a dog friendly event, so bring your pup!
There will be prizes for the Best Hat contest, the Best Dressed pup and there will also be a silent auction, door prizes, a Derby 50/50, a photo booth, children’s crafts, and more!

#2: Skidaway Island Open Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show
Get ready for the Savannah Mustang Club in partnership with J.C. Lewis Ford, as they present the Skidaway Island Car, Truck, & Motorcycle Show! All makes, models, & bikes of all brands are Welcome! The whole event will be from 9am-3pm, but make sure to check out the full schedule to see what events are happening, and when.
There will be Music and Food provided, and of course Fun! There will be a 50/50 Drawing, and Both Live & Silent Auctions with proceeds going toward the Ronald McDonald House, Charities of the Coastal Empire, and other local nonprofit organizations, all in dedication to improving the health and well-being of children and their families.
