Welcome to our Top Five Savannah Events presented by Shena Verrett. This week’s top five events kicks off with event number five at the Super Museum Sunday. The Georgia History Festival is an opportunity to visit museums through out Georgia, free of charge. Hosted by The Georgia Historical Society in Savannah will have The Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home’ doors Free and open on Sunday Feb. 9th from 1 – 4 pm.
Event number four is the Savannah Philharmonic “Modern to Majestic”. Tonight’s program pushes the boundaries of what we consider “classical” music. Márquez’ Danzón No. 2 will have you dancing in the aisles, and Gilliland’s Dreaming of the Masters III sounds like it’s straight out of a jazz club. Then for his Fourth Symphony, Tchaikovsky threw out the rules of how a symphony was “supposed” to be written, gifting us with one of his greatest masterpieces.
For event number three The Savannah Comedy Underground & Totally Awesome Bar present Galentines Day! Savannah’s funniest gals all in one night! If you’re a feminist you’ll love it! If you’re not a feminist how did you even read this far? Join us for a night of all female powered hilarity at Savannah’s only weekly basement comedy show! Wednesday, February 5th doors open at 7:00p Show at 8:30 – No Cover. 21+ only.
Event number two is brought to you by Urgent Care at Berwick its the Love Chocolate Half & 10K. This Half Marathon and 10k is all about earning your Chocolate. Chocolate treats from packet pickup, on the course, all the way to the Finishline. Hot Chocolate and Coffee, fondo style treats and our festive finishline will make this a great Valentines Day Weekend event for you.
And our number one event is hosted by the Garrison Voices, the Savannah Sings 2020. Garrison’s Invitational Choir Festival is a two part event featuring a concert program by some of the area’s top school and community youth choirs as well as a showcase of the Festival Men’s Chorus under the direction of guest conductor, Dr. Kenney Potter and its all happening at the Yamacraw Center for Performing Arts Friday, Feb. 7th from 7:00 – 10:00p
